Hello beautiful peoples!

So I have a bit of a weird one for you today.
I woke up around 5:30 and immediately felt like something wasn’t quite right. On top of the usual early-morning need to wee, my left calf started aching. It wasn’t a full-on cramp – no throbbing, just tightening and this constant, dull pain. Not the worst, maybe a 5 out of 10, but definitely annoying.
“Ouch,” I thought. “I’ll just walk it off.”
So I went to the bathroom to empty the tank… and then something really weird – and honestly a bit frightening happened.
All of a sudden I felt a bit weak. It’s hard to describe, but you know that feeling when you press your hands against your ears and everything goes into that kind of muffled, drumming silence? It was like that… but stronger. And on top of it, there was this high-pitched tinnitus-like sound, louder than usual. My thoughts were racing a bit… Stroke? I smiled in the mirror – not crooked – so that’s probably not it… Cardiac event? My chest is a bit tight, but I doubt that’s it… No pain in the left arm… What is it, cat damn it?
I just stood there thinking, “Well… is this it?” Trying to decide whether I should call an ambulance or at least let my wife know something dodgy was going on. And then – after maybe 15-20 seconds – it just… went away.
The high-pitched noise faded back to normal. The deafening silence disappeared. And weirdly enough, the pain in my leg was going away too.
What the hell was that? No idea.
If you know me personally you know that timing-wise, it was possibly one of the worst days I could have picked to kick the bucket, so I’m quite glad it didn’t go that way.
That said, I have had a couple of helicopter-like head spins over the past few months, so maybe there’s a pattern there. Hard to say. I’ll definitely bring it up next time I’m at the H.E.A.R.T. clinic.
Anyway – I’m fine now. Hopefully it stays that way.
Catch you on the flip side,
AndrzejL
PS. What do we say to the God of Death? Not today!
