Hello beautiful peoples!

Yesterday, just as I was finishing my fifth browser extension, I received an e mail from “The Google Chrome Webstore Team”. At first I thought it was a phishing scam, but after checking it myself and running the source through AI, I was certain it was a legitimate e-mail.
Turns out that, in all their infinite wisdom, Google decided to stifle the growth of small development teams by limiting the number of extensions they can upload. IDIOTS! Reasons? “to support a high-quality ecosystem and improve review times”… So… Complete and utter horse shit.

I checked the Developer Dashboard and realized that I am already at the four extension slots assigned to my account, so I cannot publish any more.

Great… The e-mail said something about “requesting increase”… so that’s what I did.

I was basically told that I am “a small potatoes” and I can go pound sand…
I tried again but they limit accounts to one request per 24 hours…

There is no information about how to appeal this decision. There is only very general information about the requirements for increasing the limit: sustained engagement, as well as the tenure and activity of the publisher account.
No biggie. I will leave the four currently live extensions in the Google Chrome Web Store. However, from now on, I will only upload my extensions to Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and the Mozilla Firefox Add-ons store.
I mean… it’s not like my add-ons are super popular and many people will get upset. The target audience is mostly Wifey and meself, but still, it’s mildly infuriating.
Catch you on the flip side,
AndrzejL
